• Rinehart & Sons   Alta Lee Patch Howard Jesup—Alta Lee Patch Howard, 94, of Jesup died Dec. 23, 2024, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and served in a number of positions, including Sunday school teacher and director of WMU.

• Rinehart & Sons   Sandra R. Harris Jesup—Sandra R. Harris, 75, of Jesup died Dec. 19, 2024. The East Point native had lived in Wayne County since 1989 and was a member of Odum Church of God.

• Rinehart & Sons   Randall Maxwell Walker, III Jesup—Randall “Randy” Maxwell Walker III, 74, of Jesup died Dec. 14, 2024, after having heart issues for the last five years. He was born and reared in Jesup, where he lived most of his adult life.

• Rinehart & Sons   Blake Penix Newport News, Virginia—Blake Penix, 31, of Newport News, Virginia, died Nov. 27 2024, in an automobile accident on his way home for the Thanksgiving holiday.

• Howard & Jones   Ralph Earl Overfield Jesup—Ralph Earl Overfield, 80, died peacefully on Nov. 30, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. He was born on March 7, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Kenneth and Bertha Overfield.

• Rinehart & Sons   Angela Poppell Thornton K’ville—Angela “Angie” Poppell Thornton, 64, of K’ville died Nov. 9, 2024, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Wayne County native was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee with Georgia Department of Transportation.

• Howard & Jones   James Noah Lee Jesup—James Noah Lee, 84, affectionately known as “Jim” or “Flea” by his coworkers at Rayonier died peacefully on Nov. 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

• Rinehart & Sons   Ruby Jean Jones Keith Jesup—Ruby Jean Jones Keith, 87, of Jesup died Oct. 29, 2024 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

• Rinehart & Sons Charles Turner Jesup—Charles Turner, 47, of Jesup died unexpectedly on October 25, 2024. The Louisiana native had lived in Wayne County most of his life and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church.

• Rinehart & Sons   Royce Welch Jesup—Royce Welch, 89, of Jesup died Oct. 16, 2024. The Ware County native and former resident had lived in Wayne County the past 46 years and was an active member of the Golden Rulers Sunday School Class and a lifetime deacon of Jesup First Baptist Church.
