• Rinehart & Sons   Dedra Dukes Shuman Swainsboro—Dedra Dukes Shuman of Swainsboro, 69, died March 11, 2025. She was born in Ludowici on Dec. 27, 1955. She was brought up and lived in Jesup for many years, until she relocated to Reidsville and then Swainsboro.

• Howard & Jones   Lenton Dean Thompson Sr. Jesup—Lenton Dean Thompson Sr., 82, affectionately known as “Big Pappa Dean,” died peacefully on Feb. 17, 2025, at home. A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, he was born on Dec. 18, 1942, to the late, Lenton and Pauline Batten Thompson.

• Rinehart & Sons   Patricia Bryant Jesup—Patricia “Patti” Park Bryant, 76, of Jesup died on Feb. 13, 2025, after a short illness. The Wayne County native was the heart of the Jesup High School Class of 1966 and a lifelong fervent Yellow Jacket enthusiast.
