• Rinehart & Sons   The Rev.  Gerald Wayne “Rooster” Manning Jr. Jesup—The Rev.  Gerald Wayne “Rooster” Manning Jr., 53, of Jesup died July 22, 2025. The Wayne County native was the pastor of Memorial Baptist Church and former owner of Manning Tire and Grocery in Gardi.

• Howard & Jones   Jimmy Paul Davis Sr. Jesup—Jimmy Paul Davis Sr., 78, died peacefully on July 18, 2025, at home while surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. He was born on June 1, 1947, to the late Albert and Lois Beasley Davis.

• Royal   Eliza Darden Jesup—Eliza Darden died quietly July 9, 2025 at Memorial Health University in Savannah. A visitation will be held at Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m July 18. The celebration-of-life service will be held on July 19 at 11 a.m.

• Rinehart & Sons   George Oliver Jesup—George Oliver, 77, of Jesup and formerly of Guyton died July 2, 2025. The Florida native was a Baptist and a truck driver and mechanic. The U.S. Army veteran served in the Vietnam War.

• Rinehart & Sons   Dixie Thompson King Jesup—Dixie Thompson King, 92, of Jesup died on June 23, 2025, under the care of At Home Senior Living. She was a Tatnall County native and had lived in Wayne County most of her adult life and was a 1950 graduate of Jesup High School.

• Howard & Jones   Darlene Marie Romeira Prekop Jesup—Darlene Marie Romeira Prekop, 69, died peacefully on June 18, 2025, at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia and surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Oct.

• Howard & Jones   Juanita Starling Moore Jesup—Juanita Starling Moore, 95, died peacefully on June 13, 2025, at Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

• Rinehart & Sons   Stephanie Horton Griffis Odum—Stephanie Horton Griffis, 40, of Odum died on June 3, 2025, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia in their in-patient unit. The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup Church of God, where she was a youth leader.

• Rinehart & Sons   Richard Jackson Gardi—Richard “Dick” Jackson, 84, of Gardi died May 31, 2025. He was a loving and devoted Christian son, husband, father, father-in-law, Papa, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

• Rinehart & Sons Jesup—Thomas William Causey III, 77, died on May 22, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. He was a lifelong member of Jesup First United Methodist Church, where his grandfather baptized him as an infant.
