• Rinehart & Sons   Dixie Thompson King Jesup—Dixie Thompson King, 92, of Jesup died on June 23, 2025, under the care of At Home Senior Living. She was a Tatnall County native and had lived in Wayne County most of her adult life and was a 1950 graduate of Jesup High School.

• Howard & Jones   Darlene Marie Romeira Prekop Jesup—Darlene Marie Romeira Prekop, 69, died peacefully on June 18, 2025, at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia and surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Oct.

• Howard & Jones   Juanita Starling Moore Jesup—Juanita Starling Moore, 95, died peacefully on June 13, 2025, at Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

• Rinehart & Sons   Stephanie Horton Griffis Odum—Stephanie Horton Griffis, 40, of Odum died on June 3, 2025, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia in their in-patient unit. The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup Church of God, where she was a youth leader.

• Rinehart & Sons   Richard Jackson Gardi—Richard “Dick” Jackson, 84, of Gardi died May 31, 2025. He was a loving and devoted Christian son, husband, father, father-in-law, Papa, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

• Rinehart & Sons Jesup—Thomas William Causey III, 77, died on May 22, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. He was a lifelong member of Jesup First United Methodist Church, where his grandfather baptized him as an infant.

• Rinehart & Sons   Althea Murray Yates Jesup—Althea Murray Yates, 98, of Jesup died May 13, 2025. The daughter of Thomas McKinley and Gladys Joy (neé Horne) Murray was the second eldest daughter of eight children.

• Rinehart & Sons   John “Tom” Friese Jesup—John “Tom” Friese, 74, of Jesup died May 6, 2025. The Sylvania native had lived in Wayne County the past 37 years and was a Baptist. He was a retired employee with R.B. Baker Construction Company and enjoyed his job very much.

• Howard Barbara Lavern Wallace Cannon Bluff—Barbara Lavern (Campbell) Wallace, 92, died May 4, 2025, in Jesup.  She was born in Screven and grew up there and in Vidalia, and was a homemaker, and Avon representative. She enjoyed embroidery and working in her rose bushes and amaryllis.

• Rinehart & Sons   Elva Faye (Smith) Aspinwall Dacula—Elva Faye (Smith) Aspinwall, 80, died peacefully at her home in Dacula after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her family, dear friends and loyal furry companions when she went to be with Jesus.
