Lynette Ricks Vaughn
Jesup—Lynette Ricks Vaughn, 97, of Jesup died Nov. 9, 2025.
The Glynn County native and former resident had lived in Wayne County the past 22 years. She was a member of Akin United Memorial Methodist Church and a retired Southern Bell Company telephone operator.
She had a “green thumb” and loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Ricks, Ellen Tarrant, Joan Cobb and Betty Spaulding; and a brother, William E. Ricks.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Willie) Evors of Jesup; a son, Scott (Sandra) Brandies of Jesup; four grandchildren, Jason (Brooke) Brandies, Brittney (Chris) Clifton, Hunter (Jessica) Evors and Ashley (Patrick) Mickey; six great-grandchildren, Ayla, Logan, Graham, Meredith, Liam and Scottie; a brother, Charles Ricks; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at Rinehart Chapel with the Rev. Rick Turner and the Rev. Charles Ricks officiating. Interment will follow in Akin Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Cobb, Jeff Salter, Edward Ricks, Jacob Acosta, Chuck Brock and Patrick Mickey. Honorary pallbearers will be the congregation of Akin Memorial Church.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Kenneth Gary Freeman
Brunswick—Kenneth Gary Freeman, 84, of Brunswick died Nov. 9, 2025, under the care of Hospice of Golden Isles.
He was born in the Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology at Rutgers University.
After graduation, he was vice president of Eagle Oil Company in New Jersey. Following the sale of his family’s business, he was a psychologist in Pasadena, California, and Coconut Grove, Florida, before retiring to Brunswick.
He was proud of his Jewish heritage.
He was preceded in death by his beloved partner of 25 years, Leilani Rose Casstellucci; his parents, Richard and Sylvia Freeman; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Freeman; fraternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Zuprick; an aunt, Rita Zupnick (Irwin) Heyman; and a niece, Joanie Heyman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Chitty Freeman of Brunswick; a sister, Joan (Larry) Budish; nephews, Eric and Jon Budish; stepsons, William (Haley) Chitty, Paul, Michael and Nathan Garcia; stepdaughters, Eva-Marie (Danny) Meherally and Debbie McWilliams; step-grandchildren, Lillian, River and Alden Meherally, Zeke, Ellianna and Eva Silva; a special “adopted” family, Juan Silva and Will (Delma) Santiago; a sister-in-law, Annette Coulson; a brother-in-law, Curtis (Katie) Lanier; and a special niece, Lisa (Carey) McDaniel.
Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at Rinehart Chapel with Rabbi Rachael Bregman officiating. Interment followed in the Manningtown Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Carey McDaniel, Nate Jackson, Jeffery McCarty, Brian Lanier and Josh Remer.
