• Rinehart & Sons   Scott White Jesup—Scott White, 68, of Jesup died March 5, 2026. The former Iowa resident had lived in Wayne County the past several years and was recently retired from the Wayne County school system as the athletic trainer.

• Rinehart & Sons   Samuel Jorgensen Sr. Jesup—Samuel Jorgensen Sr., 78, of Jesup died on Feb. 16, 2026. The Alma native lived in Wayne County most of his adult life, was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was retired from Rogers Body Shop after 30 years.

• Rinehart & Sons   Jefferson Wylly Davis Sr. Jesup—Jefferson Wylly “Jay” Davis Sr., 84, of Jesup died on Feb. 10, 2026, in the Hospice of South Georgia Inpatient Unit. The Pierce County native had lived most of his adult life in Wayne County and was a member of Flint Branch Baptist Church.

• Rinehart & Sons   Marlin Rogers Fletcher Jesup—Marlin Rogers Fletcher, 78, of Jesup died Feb. 5, 2026, under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. The Fitzgerald native and former Clewiston, Florida, resident had lived in Wayne County the past several years.

• Rinehart & Sons   Sarah Rinehart Geiger Odum—Sarah Rinehart Geiger, 82, of Odum died Jan. 30, 2026, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Wayne County native and resident was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.

• Howard and Jones   Juana Hurst Grover Jesup—Juana Hurst Grover, 83, died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. Born on Sept. 11, 1942, in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Dorothy Johns Hurst.

• Howard & Jones   Norma Louise O’Quinn Poppell Odum—Norma Louise O’Quinn Poppell, 87, died peacefully on Jan. 16, 2026, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia at Harborview Health System Jesup after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease with Lewy body dementia.

• Howard & Jones   Avalene Beasley Cooper Jesup—Avalene Beasley Cooper, 71, died peacefully at home on Dec. 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. She was born on Dec. 9, 1954 in Jesup to the late Guyton Beasley and A. Lucille Driggers Beasley.
