Laurie Dudley Nichols

Brunswick—Laurie Dudley Nichols, 46, of Brunswick died Nov. 15, 2025.

The Wayne County native attended Unity Church of God and was a 1997 graduate of Wayne County High School. She was a former sales representative for Robin Brockington State Farm Agency and the Mike Long Agency. She loved shopping, reading and watching LMN Network.

She was predeceased by several siblings.

Survivors include her parents, Frank and Brenda Dudley of Jesup; a daughter, Rosie (Matthew) Hutcheson of Baxley; a son, Gage Thibodeaux of Baxley; a sister, Brenda Ann (Lee) Jackson of Jesup; a granddaughter, Ava Claire Hutcheson. She was very loved and will be dearly missed, the family said.

Memorial services will be held by her family.

Donald E. Crews

Hortense—Donald E. Crews, 64, of Hortense died Nov. 16, 2025.

He was born Nov. 8, 1961, in Fernandina, Florida to Roy E. and Bryan Crews. He was a 1979 graduate of Wayne County High School who served for four years in the U.S. Air Force and worked as an electrician for Georgia-Pacific.

He is survived by his parents; his wife of 40 years, Christy Duren Crews; two daughters, Emily Crews and Caitlin Crews; two  brothers, Dennis (Dawn) Crews and Mitchell (Angela) Crews, all of Hortense; and a sister, Sarah (James) Lee of Waycross.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family asks for donations to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research fund in lieu of flowers or material gifts.

Jan Kellie Beasley

Jesup—Jan Kellie Beasley, 63, died peacefully on Nov. 18, 2025, at home.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1962, in Snellville and spent her early years in Hartwell. After high school, she received a bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel University and was certified as a middle school teacher. After a few years teaching in the Atlanta area, she transferred to Jesup, where she taught art classes in the Wayne County and Long County school systems for many years.

The “artistic” one in the family, she had her and her Dad’s home all decked out for the upcoming holidays and was looking forward to Christmas with her family, he family said. She also loved “thrifting” and spending time with her two grandchildren, Peyton and Cooper. She attended church at First United Methodist Church of Jesup and was a best friend to many. She was loving, kind and had a nurturing spirit, her family said.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Locke Beasley; and her infant sister, Lynn Beasley.

Survivors include her daughter, Hailie (Jason) Priester of Jesup; her father, John Beasley of Jesup; two sisters, Debra (John Kading) Beasley of Loveland Colorado and Claire (Kevin) Scallions of Marietta; two grandchildren, Peyton and Cooper Clary; four step-grandchildren, Dylan, Konner, Carlee and Jaycee Rae Priester; and two nephews, Daniel Kading of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Brant Whaley of Spokane, Washington.

A memorial service will be held today (Thursday) at 4 p.m. at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with the Rev. Rebecca Duke-Barton and the Rev. Garth Duke-Barton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
