Roger McColloch

Jesup—Roger McColloch, 77, of Jesup died Aug. 2, 2025.

A native of Missouri, he had lived in Wayne County most of his adult life and was an Army veteran, having served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a retired Fort Stewart firefighter and enjoyed woodworking and selling his unique wood swings and custom furniture and fulfilling any building requests from his children and grandchildren. Other hobbies were outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, boat riding and golf cart riding. He was known for having a huge heart when it came to serving others, and his family called him their “Rock” and “Cornerstone.”

His parents, Willie and Eva Dannar McColloch, preceded him in death, along with his brother, Kenneth McColloch, and his sister, Lucille McColloch.

Survivors are his wife of 30 years, Libby Ring McColloch of Jesup; four daughters, Ginger (Richard Petty) Shealey, Julie (Devin Kinlaw) Henderson, Paula (Aaron) Gibbs and Holley Kubicek, all of Jesup; two sons, Mark (Anna) McColloch and Ken McColloch, both of Colorado, and their mother, Mary Faye Mullis of Jesup; a sister, Wanda Iddings of Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Skyler, Jordan, Seth, Morgan, Chailyn, Jaiden, Gabe, Jaren, Camille, Gavin and Aaron Jr.; a great-grandson, Zayan; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration-of-life service took place Aug. 6 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Earl Kicklighter officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
