Sybil Bryant Harris
Jesup—Sybil Bryant Harris, 67, died peacefully on April 19, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Wayne County, she was born on May 11, 1958, in Baxley to the late, Marcus Bryant and Mary Lou Ellis Bryant. She worked for many years at the Georgia Department of Transportation. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and working in her flower garden. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant the world to her, and she devoted herself to them unselfishly. Family was truly everything to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Roger Harris of Jesup; two daughters, Mary (David) Woods and Kylie Harris (Adnan Alam) all of Jesup; one sister, Marilyn Theaker of Jesup; two brothers, Charles (Darlene) Bryant of Jesup and Kenny (Toya) Bryant of Screven; grandchildren, Courtney (Brandon) Hampton of Jesup, Chris Woods of Jesup, Brittany (Aaron) Carter of Baxley and Tyler Edwards of Jesup; great-grandchildren, Ryan Alam, Sameer Alam, Hayden Hampton, Noah Carter, Levi Edwards, J.D. Hampton, Harper Edwards, Sadie Edwards and Maddox Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended-family members.
Funeral services were held April 22 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with the Rev. Chris Hires officiating. Interment followed in Lake Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chris Woods, Brandon Hampton, Hayden Hampton, Kevin Cole, Dakota Bryant and Zack Cole.

Glen Edward Mullis
Screven—Glen Edward “Cathunter” Mullis, 84, of Screven died on April 21, 2026.
The Wayne County native was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Scuffletown. He was mainly a hunter and enjoyed fishing and attending rodeos. His favorite pastime was spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His wife of 62 years, Denny Wimpey Mullis, preceded him in death along with several siblings, Mildred Mullis Thornton, James (Janet) Mullis, Jeanette Mullis (Jimmy) Todd, Alean Mullis Griffin and Loyce Mullis.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Mullis of Screven; three sons, the Rev. Donnie (Sherry) Mullis and Ronnie Mullis, both of Screven, and Paul (Ann) Goober of Jesup; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Wendell Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at O’Quinn Baptist Church with the Rev. R.B. Gaskins, the Rev. Donnie Mullis and the Rev. Tommy Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the O’Quinn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Thornton, Zach Hutchinson, Mike Beard, Bill Mullis, Mackey McReady and Jeremy Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be anyone who has ever been hunting with him.
