Joan Beasley Jesup—Joan Beasley, 72, died peacefully on April 20, 2023, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after a lengthy illness. A resident of Jesup for nearly 54 years and former resident of Savannah, she was born May 21, 1950, in Greer, South Carolina.

Thomas Andrew Barnier Jesup—Thomas Andrew Barnier, 85, died peacefully at home on the evening of April 13, 2023. He was born on May 31, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Andrew Barnier and Yvonne Ouellette Barnier. He lived in South Georgia for the past 10 years.

Howard E. Wasdin Jesup—Howard E. Wasdin, 61, was tragically killed in a plane crash just short of the William A. Zorn Airport in Wayne County on April 6, 2023, along with his pet companion, Tango.

Preston Hope Jesup—Preston Hope, 81, of Jesup died March 30, 2023, after a brief illness.  The Wayne County native was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Burean Sunday School Class. The retired Rayonier employee was the owner of Hope’s Sprinkler and Landscape Service.

Thera Mae Scott Anderson Odum—Thera Mae Scott Anderson, 94, of Odum died March 21, 2023. The Wayne County native was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Wesleyan Methodist Church and a homemaker.  Earlier in her life, she worked as a rural U.S. Postal letter carrier for many years.

  Terry Franklin Sapp Jesup—Terry Franklin Sapp, 62, died peacefully on March 20, 2023, at home in the arms of his loving wife after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Aug. 27, 1960 in Jesup to the late Albert Lewis and Mattie Horton Sapp.

David E. Bowen Jesup—David E. Bowen, 92, of Jesup died March 4, 2023. The Pierce County native had lived in Wayne County the past 50 years and was a member of the Jesup Church of God. He began his retail life founding David’s Clothing in Jesup in 1972 and branched out to several other locations.

  Casper Denise Lopez Jesup—Casper Denise Lopez, 44, died Feb. 19, 2023, in Gaines-ville, Florida. A native and lifelong resident of Jesup, he was born on Dec. 27, 1978. She had a big heart and loved helping people in need, according to her family.
