Doctortown Road railroad crossing closure planned

The Doctortown Road railroad crossing at Jesup is scheduled to be completely closed for emergency repairs beginning Monday around 7 a.m.

CSX Transportation anticipates reopening Wednesday by 7 p.m.

According to the closure notice from the Wayne County government, “No vehicles will be permitted to cross the railroad tracks until the repairs are completed and the crossing is reopened.

“Traffic-control and detour signs will be placed in the area. Motorists should avoid the closure area and use an alternate route.”
