To celebrate America's 250th birthday, we took a step back in time and imagined what this week's edition might have looked like in 1776.
For 250 years, our nation has grown & so has the way we tell stories. From hand-set type and black & white pages to full-color photography, instant updates online, and The Press-Sentinel straight to your email on Wednesday. The process has changed but the mission has not.
Our newspaper has always been more than ink on newsprint. It's the record of Wayne County’s triumphs, challenges, milestones, and everyday moments. It's where our history is preserved, voices are heard, and neighbors stay connected. It's where the stories that don't always make national headlines still matter, because they matter here.
As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, we're also celebrating the freedom to report, to ask questions, to share the truth, and to chronicle the people and places that make our community strong.
Here's to honoring our past, embracing the future & continuing to tell the stories that become tomorrow's history.
Happy 250th Birthday, America.
