Eric Jason Strickland
Jesup—Eric Jason Strickland, 47, of Jesup died March 20, 2026.
The Wayne County native and former resident of New Kent, Virginia, was a former iron worker with a local union. He loved trips to the beach, where he would fish and crab with his son. Tinkering with old cars was another favorite pastime, as he could fix almost anything.
He used humor to entertain others and was loving toward his family, especially his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Lee Strickland; his brother, Dwayne Michael Strickland; and grandparents, Ingeborg “Omi” Gertrude Ida Tagge Delk, J.W. Strickland and Opal Fetner.
Survivors include his children, Tylar (Johnny) Chandler and Jackson Strickland of Virginia and their mother, Amanda Laxton Strickland; his mother, Christine Boyd of Jesup; a brother, Justin Clayton Boyd of Jesup; a sister-in-law, Robin Strickland of Brunswick; nieces and nephews, Camilla and Marshall Strickland; nieces and nephews by love, Maddie, Chance and Evan Laxton; and a former father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eddie and Cheryl Laxton.
Celebration-of-life services will be held Saturday (March 28) at 9 a.m. at Rinehart Chapel with Johnny Chandler officiating.

Kenny Tillman
Screven—Kenny Tillman, 81, of Screven died March 24, 2026.
A hardworking entrepreneur, he built a successful wholesale business KTS (The Warehouse), through determination and vision. His efforts not only provided for his family but also left a lasting impact on those who worked with him. Known for his generosity, he will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elton and Ruth Tillman and a brother, James E. Tillman.
Survivors include a son, Ken Tillman of Screven; a daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and George Bennett of Douglas; a bonus daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Huey Copeland of Screven; a bonus son and a daughter-in-law, Dr. John Lyndon and Laura Wasdin of Statesboro; a bonus son and spouse Jeremy P. and Chad Wasdin of Athens; three sisters, Karen Palmer and Sarah Wiggins, both of Jesup and Eloiuse Beaver of Odum; grandchildren, Cara Whitley, Tyler and Blake Bennett, Austin Tillman, Auburn Rigdon, Lyndsey Eberhart and Jake Wasdin; six great grandchildren, Raylyn, Camdyn, Lyric and Waylon Whitley, and Liam and Wade Eberhart; and a special friend, Shelia Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday (March 28) at 11 a.m. at Unity Church of God on Sunset Boulevard in Jesup with Pastor Calvin Anderson officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. prior to services at the church.
