Joe Bailey

Mount Pleasant—Joe Bailey, 73, of Mount Pleasant died Nov. 16, 2023.

The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup Church of God of Prophecy and a retired Brunswick Pulp and Paper employee. He was an avid hunter, hunting everything from deer to turkeys to hogs.

He was a quiet man with a big heart for his family. He loved the Lord, too.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katie Bailey, and his parents, Lee and Dorothy Bailey.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janice Bailey of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Kim (Ashley Parmelee) Bailey of St. Simons; two sons, Jobie Bailey and Chad (Ciara) Bailey, both of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Lee, Cole, Josie, Luke, Brileigh Bailey, Finley Piper and Tanner Parmelee; a great-grandson, Leebie Bailey; a sister, Ivey (Craig) Martin of Mount Pleasant; and a brother, Kelly Bailey of Mount Pleasant.

Funeral services were held Nov. 20 at Rinehart Chapel with Pastor Gary Ryals officiating. Interment followed in the Bailey Family Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Active pallbearers were Lee, Cole and Luke Bailey, Chris and Jarrod Manning, Mikey Rhoden.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Mallory Wade Wilder

Green Cove Springs, Florida—Mallory Wade Wilder, 47, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, died Nov. 7, 2023.

He was a proud owner and operator of Wilder Trucking Logistics.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Clyde Mallory Wilder; maternal grandparents, James and Iris Merritt of Odum; and paternal grandparents, Geraldine and Robert Woods and Mallory and Lillian Wilder of Fernadina Beach, Florida.

Survivors include his mother, Evie M. Wilder of Jesup; wife, Ginger Wilder of Green Cove Springs; mother-in-law, Deborah Langeluttig of Green Cove Springs; father-in-law, Steve Langeluttig of Unity, Maine; brother, Mathew (Betty) Wilder of Madison, Pennsylvania; sons, Eric M. (Andrea) Wilder, Asa T. Wilder and Zephan G. Wilder all of Jesup; and grandchildren, Madison, Jaiden, Xander, Allyson and Gunner.

Celebration-of-life services will be held at a later date.

 

June Brookerd

Barbara June Murray Brookerd, 85, died Oct. 11, 2023.

She was born and raised in Screven to Arnie and Mary Murray and lived her later years in Cordele. She graduated from Georgia Teachers College (Georgia Southern University) and retired as a teacher with the Vienna Elementary School.

She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Brookerd; her parents; her brothers, Emmett Murray and Jack Murray; and her sister, Clarece Talcott.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (David) Smith; a son, Mike (Debbra) Brookerd; grandchildren, Cody (Whitley) Smith and Shiloh (Dalton) Wammock; great-grandchildren Jodie Smith and Dianna Wammock; her brother, Walter Glynn Murray; and her sister Jan Daniels.

No memorial service has been planned.
