Glynn doctor, boyfriend die in murder/suicide in Wayne County

What is believed to be a murder/suicide on Buffalo Road, in eastern Wayne County near Everett, was reported Friday by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Marsha Certain, 69, and Tracey Sanna were reported deceased in the house at 1131 Buffalo Road Thursday evening.

The Wayne County E-911 dispatch received a call at 6:44 p.m. Thursday from a person outside the county reporting that a woman had been shot in the county.

Dispatch was able to find the address based on the names given, and officers from the Sheriff’s Office and the Jesup Police Department were sent to investigate, according to Sheriff Chuck Moseley’s report.

“A perimeter was set up, and a deputy began to call out to the male over the PA speaker,” the report states. “The male attempted to exit from the back of the home, but returned inside when seeing law enforcement.”

Shortly after Sanna returned into the house, the officers heard a gunshot from inside, and when they entered the house they found the two deceased.

According to online information from the Southeast Georgia Health System (SGHS), Certain was a cardiologist who practiced in the Brunswick and St. Marys area, with hospital privileges at SGHS.

According to information in the Brunswick News, Sanna was a boyfriend and had called family members saying he had killed Certain and was threatening to take his own life.
