Jesup—Billy Polk, 72, of Jesup died Sept. 24, 2018, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The Baldwin County native had lived in Jesup the past 30 years and was a retired millwright with several nuclear plants and as an employee of J.P. Stephens Company in Milledgeville.
He liked to sing and play the guitar and trade stocks.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margie Williams Polk; a daughter, Carol Ann Polk; and a brother, Ronnie Polk.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Kevin) Reed of Milledgeville and Crystal Polk of Jesup; a son, Jamey Polk of Jesup; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Johnson and Debbie Thompson, both of Milledgeville, and Angelia Walker of Baxley; two brothers, Larry Polk of Dublin and Tommy Polk of Milledgeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held today (Saturday) at 1 p.m. in the Jesup City Cemetery with the Rev. Clayton Dowd.
