Terry “Trey” Waddell

Jesup—Terry “Trey” Waddell, 30, of Jesup died Aug. 3, 2018 after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lacy E. Echols; his mother, Chris Echols Loper; his father, Robert Waddell; and his brother, Jeremy M. Echols.

Survivors include his two sons, Jeremy and Christian Wise of New York; a daughter, Danielle Durrance of Jesup; a fiancé, Leah Peaden of Baxley; two brothers, Charles Wood Echols of Ludowici and Kenneth Waddell and his fiancé, Nicole Lolies, of Jesup; a sister, Tracy Boone of Bloomingdale; a dad, Raymond Loper of Springfield; grandmothers, Janet Echols and Jackie Arnold both of Jesup; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at Faith Chapel SCMC in Jesup with Pastor Mike Wilder officiating.

Matthew Bryant

Ludowici—Matthew Bryant, 35, of Ludowici died Aug. 4, 2018, of an apparent heart attack.

The Ohio native had lived in Long County most of his life and was a former forklift operator with Target Distribution Center in Midway.  He was known for being a loving husband and father.

He was predeceased by his father, Marvin Bryant.

Survivors include his wife, Lacey Gordon Bryant of Ludowici; two sons, Bryan and Curtis Wells of Ludowici; his mother, Brenda Bryant of Vinton, Ohio; three sisters, Amanda Bryant of Vinton, Ohio, Cathy Bryant and her husband, Tony, of Hocking Hills, and Ohion and Julie (Donovan) Crawford of Midway; a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lanny and Judy Gordon of Ludowici; two brothers-in-law, Lanny Gordon II and Tommy Gordon, both of Ludowici; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Aug. 7 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Lanny Gordon officiating.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Jerry Wayne Copeland

Jesup—Jerry Wayne Copeland of Jesup died Aug. 6, 2018, in St. Joseph’s Hospital after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at House of Prayer Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Lord and the Rev. Dennis Bryant officiating.

Christopher Dale Manning

Monroe, Tennessee—Christopher D. Manning, 47, of Monroe, Tennessee, died July 15, 2018, at home of a massive heart attack.

He resided in Monroe but was a native of Wayne County and lived here many years.

He was born Jan. 15, 1971, to the late Arnold and Louise Manning. He was known as a loving son, brother and father.

He is survived by three children, Tyler and Olivia Manning of Jesup and C.J. Manning of Tennessee; two brothers, Glenn Manning of Monroe County, Tennessee, and Jack Manning of Jesup; and many cousins, nieces, neph-ews and other extended-family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Wilcox officiating.
