James Cecil Herrin
Jesup—James Cecil Herrin, 89, died July 22, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, he was a retired truck driver. He learned the value of hard work early in life and held on to those principles his whole life through. He enjoyed working in his garden and fishing in his spare time and especially loved spending time with his family and his dog, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Margaret Turner, Dorothy Glenn and Susan Dukes; his brother, Walter Dukes; and his grandson, Tony Edward Landon Jr.
Survivors include his six children and their spouses, Debbie and Vince Herbert of Indiana, Genell and Lisa May of Virginia, Douglas and Donna Herrin of Jesup, Charlene and Chris Bush of Jesup, James Richard of Jesup and Gary Herrin of Jesup, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Visitation was held July 24 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with graveside services following immediately after in Odessa Cemetery.
Pallbearers were family members.

Hinesville—Bobby E. Brinkley, 81, died July 24, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Wayne County, he started preaching the Gospel around Southeast Georgia in 1964. He loved to visit people and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved God, his family, and those he served. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juil and Nevie Brinkley, and a grandson, Cory Brinkley.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Terry Brinkley; children Robin Brinkley, Chuck Brinkley, Casey Adams, Tammy Edwards, and Chip Brinkley; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry Brinkley, Zee Mullis, Jack Brinkley, Exie Chisholm, Denny Brinkley, Katryna Hayes, Jimmy Brinkley, and Jeff Brinkley; and several other family members.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from m 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gum Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. July 28 at Gum Branch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Brinkley, Zachary Harris, Cory Breningstall, Ryan Ramos, Mickey Mullis, Teddy Brinkley, Jeff Mobley, Adam Webb, and Clay Brinkley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons who served during his years of ministry.
