Eddie Lee Roberts-Jackson
Jesup—Mother Eddie Lee Roberts-Jackson, 67, died July 21, 2016, at South Georgia Health System in Bruns-wick following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 26, 1949, to Mattie Parker and Edward Roberts in Sylvania. She was educated in the Wayne County public school system and graduated from Northside High School in Jesup. She later obtained her cosmetology license and owned her own hair salon.
She loved people and her occupation as a stylist. She also took pride in her cooking and enjoyed spending time with her family, according to her family. She served as senior mother over all of the Churches of God in Unity, though Good Hope Church of God in Unity was her church home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Parker and Edward Roberts; her son, David Jackson; and a brother, James Roberts.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Bishop Leroy Jackson Jr. of Jesup; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mattie and Roy Walker and Mary Roberts, all of Savannah; an uncle and his wife, Frank and Pauline Parker of Jesup; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elder Leroy Sr. and Florence Jackson of Douglas; three sisters in-law and one husband: Carolyn Miller and Elaine Jackson, both of Jesup, and Dyane and Bob Bryant of Surrency; three brothers-in-law and one spouse, the Rev. Jerome and Connell Jackson and Bobby Cutter, all of Jesup, and Paul Randolph Jackson of Dublin; and a host of god-children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will not be a wake/visitation.
Funeral services will be held July 25 at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Church of God in Unity, located at 747 Railroad St., in Odum.

Jack Arnold Manning
Jesup—Jack Arnold Manning, 67, of Jesup died July 21, 2016, after an extended illness.
The Wayne County native attended Blanton Grove Church of God and was a retired diesel mechanic for Hercules Inc. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, “loving on” the grandchildren and just spending time with his family on the front porch.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fell and Lena Manning; three sisters, Shirley Carter, Melvine Rice and Vivian Manning; and two brothers, Cleve and Lewis Manning.
Survivors include his wife, Carla Carter Manning of Jesup; three sons, Glenn Manning of Tennessee and Christopher Manning and Jack Manning, both of Jesup; stepchildren, Ashley Nelson of Jesup and Derek Graham of Statesboro; a sister, Lisa Spencer of Ulster, Penn.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Screven City Cemetery with the Rev. Josh May and the Rev. Jim Mitchell officiating.
The visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
