Baxter—Ernest Talmadge “TUBBS” Dyal, 89, of Baxter died June 28, 2017, at NHC of Cookeville.
He was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Lynnville to the late Delton and Kate Coley Dyal.
He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
He was a retired route supervisor with Pepsi-Cola and later was a tow-motor operator at Fleetguard. He loved watching his family play sports, watching the Atlanta Braves on television, fishing and playing Rook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Maddux Dyal, who died June 22, 2009; a son, Delton Dyal; a granddaughter, Jennifer Robinson; sisters, Judy Hart and Mae Madray; and brothers Raymond, Tobie, Robert and Jack Dyal.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jimmie Robinson of Baxter; a sister, Merlene Altman of Ludowici; a brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Peggy Dyal of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Michelle Shaeffer of Baxter, Valerie and Dustin Loftis of Cookeville; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ashley, Brittany and Kaitlyn Rector, Alexis Shaeffer and Ayden Loftis; great-great-grandchildren, Addyson and Hensley King, Aaliyah Freedle; a special friend, Shirley Maynard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for today (Saturday) at 3 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Home. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Hembree and Barry Wilson will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Larry, David, Marvin and Duwayne Dyal; Dennis Rector; Dustin Loftis and Rodger LaFever.

The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
