James Franklin “Frank” Brown
Jesup—James Franklin “Frank” Brown, 73, of Waynesville and Jesup died June 12, 2017, at his residence of an apparent heart attack. He was a former resident of Jesup and in his younger days was a printer for The Press-Sentinel newspaper. After that, he was employed with the Jacksonville Shipyard.
He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, cooking, and flower and vegetable gardening.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Edward and Lila Mae Taylor Brown; a granddaughter, Kayla McWhorter; and a sister, Earline Berry.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Larkin McWhorter of Waynesville; a son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Jennifer Brown of Waynesville; sisters, Geneva Sikes and Betty (Bernice) Monroe of Metter; five grandchildren, Brandon McWhorter, Nathan Brown, Ryan Brown, Samantha Brown and Madison McWhorter; a great-grandchild, Payton McWhorter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 16 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Dowdy officiating. Interment was in George Cemetery. Active pallbearers were his family.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
