Aleisha Shonta Rankin
Jesup--Aleisha Shonta Rankin, 34, of Jesup died unexpectedly May 13, 2018.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1983, to Alphonso King and Annie Rankin in Jesup. She was educated in the Wayne County school system. She enjoyed spending time with her children and family gatherings, especially at the beach.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Minister Jessie Holsey, Irezelta and Johnny Rankin; two aunts, Marilyn Walker and Cathy Rankin; and two uncles, Johnny Rankin Jr. and Alphonso Williams.
Survivors include her companion, Lovell Everett, and her children, Zikeria Rankin, Trinity, Ramses and Isis Everett, all of Jesup; her mother, Annie (Norris) Jones of Jesup; her father, Alphonso King of Screven; her siblings, Laquita and Brittany Rankin and Tierra Rankin, all of Jesup, Shanada (Tyrell) Paulk and Desean King of Baxley and Daveon Alderman of Jesup; two grandchildren, Kelan Rankin and Kelci Adams; her aunts, Shandora (Eddie) Pittman and Sherrie (Don) Winston of Jesup, Vanessa Hicks of Brunswick, Paulette (Wille) Armstrong of Hinesville, Angela Rankin, Debra Nix of Waynesboro, Mississippi, and Ruby Lee (Ronald) Baldwin of Jesup; her uncles, Bruce Rankin, Edward Bess and Terrance Rankin, all of Jesup; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held today (Saturday) at 3 p.m. at Unity Church of God, 1580 Sunset Blvd.
Peoples Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Preston E. Ivey
Jesup—Preston Ivey, 71, died May 11, 2018, at his residence, under the care of Hospice of South Georgia from various medical complications.
The Wayne County native was a member of Jehovah Witness in Jesup.
He was an employee of Rayonier for 39 years retiring in 2009.
He enjoyed carpentry, working in his yard, growing his own vegetables and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.L. and Ruby Ivey of Jesup, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vallee C. and Sue W. Ivey of Jesup and Kenneth M. and Donna Ivey of Warner Robbins.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Hall Ivey of Jesup; three sons and daughters-in-law, Preston E. (Gene) and Amy Ivey of Jesup, Josh and Amy Ivey of Jesup and Justin Ivey of Jesup; one daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Tyler Dominey of Brunswick: two brothers and sisters-in-law, Betty Jean and Jimmy Baxter of Breman and Pat and Mike DeLoach of Odum; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Charles and Francis Hall and Terry Hall, all of Jesup, and Danny and Debbie Trehern of Huntsville, Alabama; and six grandchildren.
A private family memorial is scheduled at a later date.
The Golden Isle Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
