Jean Mikell Bryan
Collegedale, Tennessee--Jean Mikell Bryan, 89, formerly of Cleveland, Tennessee, died May 4, 2019 in Collegedale.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jesup, where she sang in the choir. Before marriage and moving to Tennessee, she held positions with Bailey Farm Equipment and Tyson Motor Company.
After having her family, she earned a degree in elementary education and taught first grade until her retirement.
She was the daughter of the late Armond and Mary McCollum Mikell of Jesup. She was preceded in death by sisters Carolyn M. Varnedoe of Brunswick and Charlotte M. Gifford of Montgomery, Alabama.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Francis William “Bill” Bryan; daughters Pamela (Andrew) Grayson of Birmingham, Alabama, and Francine Bryan of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a son Greg Bryan of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Hilda) Mikell of Zephyrhills, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held May 8 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
