Donald L. “Johnny” Johnson
Jesup—Donald L. “Johnny” Johnson, 74, of Jesup died April 23, 2019, in Coastal Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.
The North Carolina native lived in Wayne County the past 51 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a Baptist. He was a retired mechanic with Boykin Erectors. He liked to attend auctions and raised birds.
He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Glenda Hinson Johnson; parents, Craig and “Teeny” Johnson; and a sister, Sue Frye.
Survivors include his son, Larry (Sherri) Johnson of Jesup; grandsons, Robert (Brittany) Johnson and Craig (Shonna) Johnson all of Jesup; sisters, Elsie Johnson and Jean (Marc) Powell of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Wanda Hinson Thornton of Jesup; a very special friend, Pauline Manning of Jesup; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be held today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Stanley Todd officiating.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
