Judge Larry M. Fowler Sr.
Ludowici—Judge Larry M. Fowler Sr., 74, of Ludowici died April 15, 2018.
The Long County native was a member of New Beginnings Church and served 33 years as a municipal court judge in Ludowici. He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, but most of all, serving the people of Ludowici.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Blanche Youngblood Fowler; three brothers, Eddie Fowler, Sammy Stapleton and Tony Stapleton; and a nephew, Jerry Stapleton.
Survivors are his wife, Hazel Manning Fowler of Ludowici; a daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Wilton Strickland of Jesup; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony and Becky Fowler, and Larry Fowler Jr. of Ludowici; a sister, Vera Mae Chapman of Ludowici; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at A New Beginning Church with the Rev. Justin Gordon and the Rev. Tom Gardner officiating. Entombment will be in Baggs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Andy Fuller, Tracy Hulvey, David Stapleton, Jason Teston, Wilford Rozier and Wynn Dunham. Honorary pallbearers will be Franklin Dunham, Maxie and Timmy Griffis and the Ludowici Police Department.

Douglas A. “Doug” Brooker
Jesup—Douglas A. “Doug” Brooker, 73, of Jesup died April 15, 2018, at his residence after a short illness.
The Wayne County native was a member and deacon of Anderson Drive Baptist Church, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a retired ITT Rayonier employee. He enjoyed reading, carpentry and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Mills Brooker of Jesup; two sons, Bret (Micki) Brooker and the Rev. Fred (Tammy) Anderson, all of Jesup; a daughter, Laurie (Harold) Roby of North Augusta, South Carolina; grandchildren, Celeste and Heidi Anderson, Cameron and Marissa Brooker, Alex Carter, Wyatt and Evan Roby and Mary Beth Baker; and two sisters, Lena Funai of Nacogdoches, Texas and Cathy Naomi Batista of Jesup.
Memorial services will be held today (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. at Anderson Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Stafford and the Rev. Fred Anderson officiating.

Clera Mae Martin-Tims
Jesup—Clera Mae Martin-Tims, 68, of Jesup passed died April 11, 2018, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1949, to the late, Virginia Spencer and Cleothus Martin in Wayne County. She was educated in the Wayne County Training School and graduated from Northside High School.
“Cleo” as she was affectionately known by her close family and friends, was a devoted member of Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church. She also worked a dietitian at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Kelvin Tims; a daughter, Kelly Amanda (Ronald) Brooks; two grandchildren, Nehemiah and Naomi Brooks; her godmother, Luberta Orr; two brothers-in-law, Allen (Elizabeth) Tims and Kurt Tims; and two sisters-in-law, Jerry (Thomas) Jones and Vanessa Tims.
Funeral services were held April 16 at Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church. Interment was in Sunset Oaks Cemetery.
Royal Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
