W.F. “Bud” Cason
Surrency--W.F. “Bud” Cason, 80, of Surrency died Feb. 14, 2017, in Jesup Healthcare after an extended illness.
The Appling County native was a member of Surrency Community Church and a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Geneva Adams Cason of Surrency; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Vivian Cason of Ludowici; a sister, Sandra Sikes of Surrency; a brother, Lamar Cason of Odum; grandchildren, Joshua Cason and Katie Cannon; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. at Surrency Community Church with the Rev. Carlton Rowell and the Rev. Martha Beecher officiating.
Family will receive friends at the church.

Grendren  L. Vail
Jesup—Grendren  L. Vail, 62, of Jesup, died Feb. 17, 2017, at Altamaha Healthcare following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 19, 1954, to the late Jimmy Doomes and Beulah Frances Vail in Jesup. He was educated in the public school system of Pierce County and worked most of his life in farming and was employed with Griffis Farms. He attended Greater St. James Holiness Church in Screven, his family home church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time with his family. 
He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Eloise Brown.
He is survived by two children and a child’s spouse, Tayneillia and Torrion Miller of Brunswick, and Randy Doomes of Waycross; four grandchildren, Raylee Doomes of Blackshear and Tayvion, Torrin and Tylen Miller, all of Brunswick; three sisters, Brenda Stewart of Jesup and Pamela Cohen and Paula Blount, both of  Florissant, Missouri; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday at Royal Funeral Home Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at New Bethel  Life Changing Ministries in Screven.
