Earnestine Rogers Solomon
Jesup—Earnestine Purcell Rogers Solomon, 90, of Jesup died Jan. 5, 2017.
The Tattnall County native lived in Wayne County most of her adult life, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a longstanding member of the Faithful-Friendly Sunday School Class, and was an active member of the Calvary Sunshine Seniors.
She was a retired employee with Georgia Narrow Fabrics and was predeceased by her husbands, William G. Rogers and Lonnie Solomon Sr.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, DeWaine and Marilyn Rogers, DeMont and Eunita Rogers and Derrel Rogers, all of Jesup; two daughters and sons-in-law, DeJuan and Jerry Rainey of Jesup and Delores and Larry Ray of Waycross; grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Ann and Gene Rentz of Pooler, Rachel and Brantley Wester of Waycross, Deborah and Taylor Hereford of Waycross, Sheila and Lance Hill of Warner Robins, Jodie and Matt Rogers of Riverview, Florida, Keith and Tracy Rainey of Guyton, Jason Rainey of Pooler, Bryan and Jessica Rogers of Athens, and Kevin Rogers of Jesup; great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Ethan Rentz, Corinna, Rayanna, Lydia, and Ava Wester, Alex Hill, Palmer Rogers, Kent, Lucy, Morgan, and Niles Hereford, Sophia Hardy, Kaleb, Joshua, and Kaylee Rainey, and Kensleigh Hoffman; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Vann Dempsey officiating. Interment will be in Jesup City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Adair Branch, Jerry Branch, Richard Wasson, Jamie Wasson, Jesse Cranford and Loren Cranford.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services at the church.

Jane Ahl Fields
McDonough—Jane Ahl Fields, 70, of McDonough died Dec. 24, 2016.
She was born in Jesup to the late James and Jose-phine Tyre Ahl. She was a member of the McDonough First United Metho-dist Church. She retired after 19 years with the Clayton County Board of Education and then worked as a receptionist for Premier Restoration. She enjoyed working puzzles and collecting Gone with the Wind memorabilia, and she was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Fields; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Denise Fields of McDonough; a daughter, Malinda Fellows of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Jake Graves, Bret Fields, Kadi Fields and Aubrey Fellows; and a brother, James Ahl of Rutledge.
Memorial services were conducted Dec. 30 at the McDonough First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Jackson and the Rev. Rick Maeser officiating.
Graveside services will be held today (Saturday) at 1 p.m. in the Odum City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the McDonough First United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society in memory of Jane.

Jerry L. Kelly
Newington—Jerry L. “JK” Kelly, 71, of Jesup died Jan. 5, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family after an extended illness.
He was born June 23, 1945, to Claud and Truby “Johnson” Kelly. He worked in industrial construction for 50 years, starting as a pipe fitter. He retired as a senior project manager with Yates Construction. He served as a mentor to many and was extremely respected by his peers. He also enjoyed gardening, Westerns, poker and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and by his brother, Donald Eugene Kelly.
He is survived by his three favorite cowgirls, Shannon Keith, Shay Durden and Jessica Kelly, and four grandchildren, Joshua Herrin, Joseph Herrin, Mady Grace Strickland and Lily Strickland.
The family will receive visitors on Monday at Emit Grove Baptist Church from 10 a.m.to 11 a.m. A celebration of life service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Emit Grove Baptist Church in Statesboro with the Rev. Tim Huffingham officiating.
Interment will be follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Paul Burgess, Larry Lingould, Larry Mullet, Wilber Holiday, Bill McGuire, Bruce Long, KC Cowart and Scott Promer.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 201 South Main Street, Suite A, Statesboro, GA 30458, or to the Statesboro and Bulloch County Humane Society, P.O. Box 581, Statesboro, GA 30458.
