Patricia Brown Callaway

Jesup--Patricia Brown Callaway, 68, died Jan. 25, 2019, at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

A resident of Wayne County for most of her life, she was born on Oct. 7, 1950, in Metter to the late Carlton Ebbie Brown and Laura Yuba Bowen Brown. She spent her early years in Metter and was a graduate of Metter High School before attending Georgia Southern College.

She was a  devoted homemaker but had also worked in sales and been manager of several retail stores during her career. She volunteered her time with the Red Cross and with the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and attended Baptist Tabernacle in Jesup for many years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, cooking, playing piano and spending time with her beloved family.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jay Earl and Kristi Callaway of Alachua, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Lari Callaway and Wayne Naquin of Jesup; their father, Thomas E. Callaway of Jesup; a sister, Ann Rewis of St. Simons Island; a brother, Bowen Brown of Metter; grandchildren, Krista Naquin of Jesup, Katelyn Naquin of Blackshear, Jacob Callaway of Alachua, and Callie Callaway of Alachua; great-grandchildren, Lily McCall and Alexander Grant; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.

Herschel Ray Reynolds

Odum—Herschel Ray Reynolds, 90, of Odum died peacefully with family Jan. 28, 2019, after a long illness.

The Maron, Missouri, native was a resident of Odum for the past 30 years. He attended Odum United Methodist Church, was a former layperson with the Episcopal Church and a retired major with the U.S. Air Force Reserves, and also served with the U.S. Navy.

He was predeceased by his parents, Oliver Perry and Bessie Fern Reynolds, and a son, Jeffrey Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda Odum Reynolds of Odum; two daughters, Connie Reynolds of Orlando, Florida, and Rachel (Kyle) Autry of Odum; a son, Randy Reynolds of Brunswick; six grandchildren, Zach and Josh Frantz, Meghan and Kaitlyn Autry, and Kelly and Leighla Sisson; a brother, Perry Reynolds of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date by the family.

Fleur Wilkins Lee

Jesup--Fleur Wilkins Lee, 86, of Jesup died Jan. 28, 2019.

The Johnson County native lived most of her adult life in Wayne County. She was a member of Jesup Presbyterian Church and a retired educator, teaching mainly at T.G. Ritch and Jesup Elementary Schools. She had a full and enjoyable life, according to her family. Some of her hobbies included hiking the entire Georgia Appalachian Trail, gardening, fishing and eating her catch. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and “any beauty associated with God’s creation,” her family said.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Joe Wilkins Jr. and Bennett Lee; a daughter, Teresa Wilkins; parents, Ranzie and Susie Bell Powell; a sister, Ann Kiley; and half-sister, Catherine Snell.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne (Charlie) Hinson and Pam Wilkins of Jesup; two grandchildren, Charlie (Kim) Hinson of Odum and Niki (Curtis) Rowell of Jesup; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Rachel, Chase, Jase and Camren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Jesup Presbyterian Church with Pastor Pete Ullmann officiating. Interment will be in the Jesup City Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be her family. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of South Georgia.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Donna Ford Hammett

Screven--Donna Ford Hammett, 53, of Screven died Jan. 27, 2019.
