James “Decoda” Clary

Odum--James “Decoda” Clary, 24 of Odum died Dec. 6, 2018, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A Wayne County native and 2013 Wayne County High School graduate, he was employed by Day Break Industries and enjoyed working on anything mechanical or electrical. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, horseback riding, motorbike riding and farming. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Louise Colter.

Survivors are his wife, Morgan Rozier Clary of Odum; a daughter, Jordon Clary, and two sons, Braxton and Bentley Clary, all of Odum; his mother, Terri Clary of Odum; his father, Eddie (Rikki) Clary of Odum; three sisters, Madilyn Clary, Ada Clary and Sara Hayden Clary, all of Odum; a brother, John Taylor Clary of Odum; paternal grandparents, Revis and Gail Clary of Odum; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Saturday) at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Richard Dobson officiating.  Interment will be at the Piney Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Seth, Aaron and John Taylor Clary; Ethan Reddish; Jacob and Anthony Rozier; J.P. Carter; and Jordan Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends.

Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Rogers

Jesup--Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Rogers, 84, of Jesup died Dec. 7, 2018.

A Wayne County native and former resident of Cleburne, Texas, he was a Baptist and a retired industrial painter. He enjoyed fishing and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was predeceased by his wife, Bobbie Price Roger, and parents, Drew and Earnie Anderson Rogers.

Survivors are three sisters, Edna R. Counts of Jesup, Sherry (Jay) Suggs of Brunswick, and Sandra (Luther) Carraway of Vidalia, and a brother, Randy (Emma) Rogers of Vidalia.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 10, 2018, at Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating.

Family will receive friends at the cemetery.

Marie Vaughn

Ludowici--Marie Vaughn died Dec. 3, 2018, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home in Ludowici.

She was born Sept. 11, 1934, to the late Rev. Claude and Clara (Taylor) Howze.

She loved God and was an active member at Resurrection Christian Baptist Church, where she served as mother of the church. As a member of the Resurrection Christian Baptist Church and Community choirs, she loved making a joyful sound unto God. She served communion and on the Beautification Ministry.

She was a member of Imperial Court Daughters of Isis Eastern Star, Sahara Court No. 9, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She cherished her family and loved spending time with them, as well. She also enjoyed working in retail for more than 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Vaughn Sr.; three brothers, Claudie B., Jordon and Henry Howze; and three sisters, Janie M. Moffett, Ruby D. Benson and Katie Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis L. Vaughn Jr. (Melanie) of Jesup and Kenneth M. Vaughn (Sitara) Douglasville; one daughter, Glenda R. Leggett (Alfred) of Jesup; two brothers, Willie Howze (Marie) of High Point, North Carolina, and Abe Howze of Erie Pennsylvania; three grandsons, Darrell R. Vaughn (Yannis) of Douglasville, Derrius Vaughn of Atlanta, Georgia, and Demarcus Vaughn of Augusta; five great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Vaughn, Cameron Vaughn, Nyla Vaughn, Bryan Leggett and Lance Seward; a dear friend and caregiver, Louise Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at Royal Funeral Home today (Saturday) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., at Resurrection Christian Baptist Church, 721 N. Fourth St., Jesup, GA 31545.
