Timmy Metts
Bristol--Timmy Metts, 57, died Nov. 20, 2016, following a prolonged illness.
He was born June 18, 1959, to Talmadge and Wannie Mae Metts. He grew up in Bristol and was known as a true friend to all he met. He was a loving father of his two sons, Jeremy and Timothy, according to his family.
He was married to Claudia Dixon Metts. Friends and family say that he always looked on the positive side of life and made the best of any situation. He was a lifelong farmer and did not allow an accident in 1998 to keep him from doing the things that he loved, from growing things on the land to his participation within the truck-pulling community. 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earnest and Ruby Metts of Bristol and Earl and Lula Mae Boatright of Scuffletown.
He is survived by his parents, Talmadge and Wannie Mae Metts; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Diane Metts of Bristol; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Kate Metts of Greeville, South Carolina, and Dillon Timothy Dean Metts of Odum; a niece, Joni Metts of Bristol; a nephew, Cody Metts of Bristol; two great-nephews, Jayden and Jaylyn Metts of Bristol; and three grandchildren, Griffin, Henley and Sullivan of Greenville.
Funeral services with friends and family were conducted Nov. 23.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
Curtis Lee Brown
Jesup—Curtis Lee Brown, 48, died Nov. 16, 2016.
He was born March 21, 1968, in Plant City, Florida, to Gloria Jean Barnes and Obediah Brown. He was educated in the Wayne County school system. He worked for Georgia Narrow Fabric and Western Sizzlin.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gordon Lee and Ethel Howard; a brother, Carlos Howard; three aunts, Ethel McKnight, Mary Hicks, and Betty Butler; a great-uncle, Hermon Hatcher Sr.; a great-aunt, Eliza Hatcher; and a grandson, Zykeyon Curtis Guyton.
He is survived by his wife, Leisa Brown of Jesup; two daughters, Kurtabeia Brown and Nabresha Brown of Jesup; a son, Laqavious Brown of Jesup; his mother, Gloria Jean Barnes of Jesup; his father, Obediah Brown of Plant City; four sisters, Michelle Howard of Jesup, Letisia Jones of Mulvery, Florida, and Latisia Brown and Uylandon Smith, both of Plant City; three brothers, Tony Howard of Jesup, Terry Mays of Appling County, and Arthur Alexander of Lake City, Forida; six grandchildren, Ja’Marion Brown, Drae’vion Bradwell, Zyleria Guyton, Zykeria Guyton, Nygeria Guyton and Za’niah Attical, all of Jesup; one uncle, Jimmie Brown of Plant City; four aunts, Patricia Brown of Plant City, Martha Barham of Pontiac, Michigan, Emma Fulwood of Elmira, New York, and Coring Howard of Jesup; one great-aunt, Flora Mae Steward of Jesup; and a host of relatives and sorrowing friends, including special friends Taursus Daniels and Lucious Lendon.
Funeral services were held Nov. 23 at Gilead Ministry Church. Interment was in Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery.
Dorchester Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
