Gloria Reeves Scott

Jesup--Gloria Reeves Scott, 83, of Jesup died Nov. 16, 2018.

The Wayne County native was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class and a retired paraprofessional with the Wayne County school system. She loved spending time and sharing music with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Othel Van Scott.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Etta (Steve) Young of Waynesboro, Diane Scott of Brunswick and Cindy (Andy) Buchanan of Hartwell; a son, Othel Van (Rebecca) Scott of Canton; seven grandchildren, Stephen Young, Laurah (William) Walker, Kori, Adam, Emily, John and Lars Buchanan; a sister, Kay Darley of Jesup; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vann Dempsey and the Rev. Andrew Buchanan officiating.  Interment was in Old Bethel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were her family. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Joy Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, Maryland 20852.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Janice Osborne Reynolds Williams

Jesup--Janice Osborne Reynolds Will-iams, 76, of Jesup died Nov. 16, 2018, after a brief illness.

The Wayne County native was a 1960 Wayne County High School graduate and licensed practical nurse for many years.

She was known for her artwork in many areas and loved nature.

She was predeceased by her parents, William Allen and Grace Nichols Osborne.

Survivors include two daughters, Kristie (Bo) Jay of Uriah, Alabama, Kelley (Sal) Ceballos of Brunswick; two sons, Eric (Amy) Reynolds of Marietta, Chad Williams of Jesup; a sister, Gail O. Reynolds of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother, Al Osborne of Kingsland; four grandchildren, Brent McInnis, Olivia and Elena Ceballos and Mason Reynolds; and several nieces.

Memorial services are being held by the family.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral is in charge of arrangements.

 

Megan H. “Bud” Barber

Blackshear—Megan H. “Bud” Barber, 43, of Blackshear died Nov. 11, 2018, at his home after a brief illness.

Born in Moultrie, he grew up and attended school in Wayne County, graduating in 1993 from Wayne County High School. He was a diesel mechanic with CSX Railroad for more than 20 years.

He loved buying, repairing and selling vehicles.  He had a passion for fishing and greatly enjoyed the fellowship of those who went fishing with him.

He was baptized on May 1, 1983, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Tifton and moved his letter to Screven First Baptist Church in 1984. He loved his Lord and Savior and is now home with his Heavenly Father, his family said. 

He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Delma G. Lastinger and Valdese Stanfield Lastinger Lewis, Gene “Gramps” Lewis, and paternal grandparents, Marvin E. and Lera Herrin Barber.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Herrin Barber of Blackshear; parents, Joey and Linda Lastinger Denison of Jesup, Harold and Kathryn Barber of Patterson; his sisters, Laura Lastinger Lee of Hartsfield and Michelle (Pete) Eason of Waycross; nieces, Brittany Mercer of Waycross and Skylar Waters of Nashville, Tennessee; nephews, Kelby Waters of Fort Collins, Colorado and Brantley Thornton of Waycross; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilcox, the Rev. Daniel Harris and the Rev. Kevin Grissom officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

Charlotte Everett McGinn

Ludowici--Charlotte Everett McGinn, 68, of Ludowici died Nov. 17, 2018 after a short illness.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at “The Old Well” on South Main Street, Ludowici.
